What if I were to tell you that December 21, 2012 was the end of the world as we know it? I then went on to explain what signs tell me that the end is coming. First, let me give some background. The Mayan and Hopi’s predictions are that the world will end on that day. A number are taking this prediction very serious. Thousands of people in the Netherlands are preparing for that day by accumulating emergency supplies. It has been circulating on the Internet, in books and recently a motion picture. Rumor has it that the government is actually preparing secret underground bunkers. The government, presently have secret bunkers placed in strategic places. On 9/11/2001 Vice-President Dick Cheney was rushed to one of these bunkers. We have 140 military bases underground with over 200,000 people employed. Some underground bunkers are as deep as two miles. These bunker are large enough and with enough supplies to handle a number of key Americans.
What we think about the end and eternity will determine how we live our lives today. Are we preparing for Jesus’ return or are we living as if there will never be an end? Prophets in the Old Testament told us about Christ’s first coming and it turned out exactly as predicted. Are the predictions in the New Testament something we can believe in?
II Peter 3:10 – 12 – “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.”
Revelation 6:12 – 14 – “There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.”
What are the signs of the time telling us? II Timothy 3:1 – 5 – “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.”
Read each of the above signs. Is there one thing that is not taking place today? The last sentence reads: “Having a form of godliness but denying its power”. Paul warns us not to be deceived by people who claim to be Christians but do not have the Holy Spirit. If you watch them closely their behavior will give them away.
Do I think the end is coming in December 2012? No! There are still too many things to come. Read my next blog on April 12th for further information.

It is amazing to me that man is so self-centered that we even feel we can predict the end of the earth when the Bible states so clearly that we will not know… It reminds me of Y2K and so many people were convinced that the world was going to be shut down. We are not talking about uneducated people acting on a whim but many technical minds were convinced this event would happen. I know first hand a half dozen people who bought generators in preparation of Y2K. The fact was that when you looked at things from a simple perspective and not from fear, normal logic told you that power in towns were not going to be interrupted but yet many people were in a panicked state as the clock turned midnight. The Bible Cleary states that mans wisdom is foolish yet we have educated individuals who continue to embrace such nonsense. I do understand in part as I was very full of myself, so to speak, before I accepted Jesus Christ in my life and now have the Holy Spirit to guide me. As the Bible says, Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence.
– Jeremiah 17:7
Predicting the end of the World, C’mon!! such silliness is just another way man tries to control God!

Well said! Jesus said- “No man knoweth the day or the hour of his return except for our Father who is in heaven.” When my teenage boys came home from school and told me that the world was going to come to an end on Dec 21, 2012, I just laughed and explained to both of them what Jesus said. This is all trickery of the devil to get us all anxious and distracted and full of fear. When the end comes– EVERY EYE SHALL SEE THE COMING OF CHRIST!!! So, with all of this hype it just proves to me how many people and our own leaders do not know what Gods word says about all of this… it’s actually pretty darn sad.
