ARE YOU WILLING TO LET GOD MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL?

If you do not believe God wants you to be successful, then this information may not help you. I write from experiencing what the Bible promises. However, we better describe success because it may mean different things to different people. I have witnessed leaders and managers who were so focused on production and profits that it became a point of obsession. The world might view this as healthy, but in some respects it is just the opposite. You may know of those who are so fixed on success that they are willing to put that over workers, society, the environment or anything else that may stand in their way. Aggressive people are sometimes reviled, yet at the same time they are often admired, respected and lavishly rewarded.

Too many Christians believe that unless they live and work as the world does, they will be at a disadvantage. Some claim that instead of using Biblical principles and standards; they have no choice but to be aggressive and to do whatever it takes to survive in this day and age.

Let me, as I have previously written, interject a distinction between aggressiveness and assertiveness. Aggressiveness employs a combative attitude. It means are severe and intense. The goal is the all in all. The aggressive person mows down anyone or anything that gets in the way of reaching the goal. Assertiveness, however, is boldness or confidence. The way one reaches the goal is as important as reaching the goal, but not at the expense of hurting others or utilizing questionable tactics. Christian have a real advantage if they follow the example Scripture teaches us to live and to lead.

Acts 1:4–8 tells us that once we receive the Holy Spirit we will receive power. What is this power and how does the Spirit help us? It is the power that comes from the Spirit’s guidance, His giving us the fruits of the Spirit and the receiving of different gifts such as, teaching, leading and administrative abilities.

I was always aware of the Holy Spirit, but never really understood how fully He worked in the life of a Christian.

I have witnessed so many supernatural events that it caused me to look back on my life. How I happened to become a high school coach of three sports. When I was promoted to a supervisor’s job for Birds Eye Frozen Foods. Being a store manager for 23 of the years I spent with Montgomery Ward. Starting my own business 28 years ago as an investment advisor and seeing it grow. The reason I point this out is because I am a very average person who allowed God to help me do things I completely enjoyed doing. There is no doubt in my mind, had I not accepted Christ as my Savior and received the Holy Spirit these things would never have happened. In fact, it wasn’t until I became a Christian that I decided to get a college education at a Christian university. Let’s give the Holy Spirit credit for guiding me in that direction.

The Holy Spirit is invisible and works behind the scenes to be our helper. Do you believe that God would give us His Spirit and His power and then not do anything to help us? How often when something good happens do you stop and thank God and the Holy Spirit? May I assure you, the more you recognize the goodness of the Holy Spirit and thank Him, you will see more good things occur.

I have tried to share some of the supernatural events that have happened in my life that I know was a result of the Holy Spirit. It is my desire to convince you that the Holy Spirit is looking out for you and will direct you in the direction God wants you to go.

If you will allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, He will help you to make right decisions, improve your productivity and improve your relationships with co-workers and others. Let me share a previous writing: For those who are inclined to ask: “What good is an advantage that the Holy Spirit gives to Christians if it doesn’t translate into success every time?” I offer the following rather homespun explanation. The Christian who depends upon the Holy Spirit is sensitive to His leading and is like the athlete who listens to an experienced coach. The coach can’t guarantee an athlete’s induction into the Hall of Fame, nor can he guarantee a gold medal for the athlete, but he can train him and teach him everything he knows, giving him every advantage, allowing him to consistently do his best. The Christian advantage does not guarantee presidencies, chairmanships, wealth, achievement awards, fame or recognition, but it will lead the Christian into the direction that fulfills his God-given purpose. What do you have to lose? Instead of ignoring the Holy Spirit in your life allow Him to become your partner.

It is my hope to convince those having the Holy Spirit that He is looking out for you and will direct you in a direction that God wants you to go. No way does God want you to fail in any situation. He loves us too much. But we must be aware of, listen to and be guided by the Holy Spirit. Christian or not, if you are too prideful and believe you don’t need the Holy Spirit’s help, you probably won’t get it.

I must ask this question: Do you accept the beliefs that if you, a Holy Spirit filled Christian, ARE WILLING, GOD WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL?
